Naprosyn® Pain Relief Wins ‘Pharmacy Product of the Year’ 2026
Alderley Park, UK – March 6 2026 – Maxwellia is delighted to announce that Naprosyn® Pain Relief has been awarded ‘Pharmacy Product of the Year’ in the Pain Relief category at the Pharmacy Product of the Year Awards 2026, hosted by Independent Community Pharmacist.
The award recognises products that demonstrate exceptional performance, value and trust within community pharmacy. Winners are voted for by pharmacy professionals across the UK, who are asked to consider factors such as customer demand, professional recommendation, customer loyalty and overall effectiveness when selecting the product that stands out most within each healthcare category.
Naprosyn® Pain Relief contains the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) naproxen and is indicated for the relief of short-term back, muscle and joint pain including sprains and strains. The gastro-resistant formulation delivers targeted anti-inflammatory action, with a single dose providing up to 12 hours of relief.

Since launch, the brand has begun building awareness through targeted activity designed to support pharmacy teams and engage consumers. The first major initiative was the Real Injury Time campaign, centred around a report commissioned by Naprosyn® Pain Relief and developed with sports injury expert Dr Sean Williams from the University of Bath. The Real Injury Time Report explored injury patterns in professional football and identified a key 15-minute period between the 60th and 75th minute of play when injury risk peaks. The findings highlight the intense physical demands placed on players and reinforce the importance of effective pain management and rehabilitation following injury.
Just five months on from launch, Naprosyn® Pain Relief is now available in-store and online through a range of pharmacy partners including Boots, Morrisons, Asda, Day Lewis, Rowlands and Peak Pharmacy, alongside various independent pharmacies across the UK. As the first over-the-counter naproxen specifically indicated for acute back, muscle and joint pain, this milestone represents an important step in establishing a new category on pharmacy shelves. Increased visibility in pharmacy helps raise awareness of the availability of long-lasting anti-inflammatory pain relief without the need for a prescription.
Commenting on the win, Anna Maxwell, Founder and CEO at Maxwellia, said:
“Winning Pharmacy Product of the Year for Naprosyn® Pain Relief is fantastic recognition of the work our team and partners have done to bring this important medicine to the OTC market.
